One month old female with blue firm nodule on her right upper arm and back since 1 week of age. This is a biopsy of her right upper arm lesion.

Subcutaneous fat necrosis of the newborn.

Despite the age favor subcutaneous fat necrosis of the newborn, arms and trunk are also common sites of poststeroid panniculitis. So, a negative history of recent rapid taper or cessation of systemic corticosteroid therapy must be take before ruling out the later diagnostic hypothesis

You guys got it! Nice case of subcutaneous fat necrosis of the new born. No history of steroid therapy in the patient.
