Description: The 6th Asian IMCAS edition will be at the core of aesthetic surgery an cosmetic dermatology by bringing forward the latest trends in tne industry. What began more than a decade ago has now grown in terms of participation and renown. As such, IMCAS has become one of the most important international courses dedicated to Aging Skin Treatments. Our Annual Congress is held every year in Paris in late January and welcomes more than 4 500 delegates from 70 different countries. [font=Tahoma][size=3]On behalf of our Association and the local organizers, led by Prof. Joaquin Lucena, I welcome you to Cadiz to attend a meeting devoted to cardiovascular pathology. [/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=3]This meeting will happen in both historical and historic contexts. The antecedents of the University of Cadiz were established in 1745 by Pedro Virgili with the Royal College of Army Surgery, the first institution in Europe to concede the degree in both, medicine and surgery. But 2012 will be a very special date for Spain: the commemoration of the bicentennial of the Spanish Constitution, La Pepa, also named the “Constitution of Cadiz†promulgated during the war of independence against the Napoleon’s army and presented as a symbol against absolutism in the Europe of the early 19th century.[/size][/font][font=Tahoma][size=3] [/size][/font]

[font=Tahoma][size=3]This fifth Biennial Meeting of the AECVP will be the opportunity to update our knowledge in cardiovascular pathology and medicine for almost three days looking at the most modern aspects of our discipline: sudden death in sports, molecular pathology and genetics, cardiovascular imaging correlation with pathology. This will be also the time to hear about tropical cardiovascular diseases, congenital heart diseases, and many other diagnostic topics in several symposia, keynote lectures, free communications, case reports, and posters. On behalf of the Mediterranean League against Thromboembolic Diseases
(MLTD), we take great pleasure in inviting you to attend the 22nd International
Congress on Thrombosis in Nice (October 6-9, 2012). Nice has been chosen for
the venue of this meeting because of its location on the Mediterranean sea, its
dynamic university and its accessibility. The Congress Center, Acropolis, is an
attractive place in downtown Nice with a modern and functional structure.
The most important is the program of the sessions, combining both clinical
and biological aspects of thrombosis which is the aim of MLTD congresses.
We have planned plenary sessions, symposia and educational sessions on
up-to-date subjects, all presented by outstanding lecturers. In addition, we
trust on your willing to send abstracts on original new ï¬ndings.
New antithrombotics, antiplatelet agents and anticoagulants, are now
available.
Their mode of action, indications, doses and side-effects need to be
clariï¬ed, as well as their influence on laboratory tests . In 2012, the place of
‘old’ antithrombotics such as aspirin, clopidogrel, vitamin K antagonists and
heparins will be important to consider. Guidelines have been published in
different countries for treatment and prevention of thrombosis: they must be
known and followed by clinicians in the real life.
New approaches based on cellular interactions, proteomics and genomics will
be presented and discussed.
Women’s Health is also a major topic. Pregnancy, hormonal treatments for
contraception, menopause or breast cancer are associated with an increased
risk of thrombosis, and a more recent area concerns all assisted reproductive
technologies. Other original themes on the latest research will be developed.
We hope many of you will attend this congress and we look forward to
welcoming you for a very ‘Nice’ meeting.
