DAY
27 November 2012 01 December 2012
Dear Colleagues in Pathology:
On behalf of the California Society of Pathologists (CSP), I am proud to present our 65th Annual Meeting,
“Seminars in Pathology.†The 2012 educational program once again invites you to beautiful San Francisco
bringing distinguished faculty from outstanding institutions throughout the country.
The courses, tutorials and lectures present a diversity of topics that are relevant and practical to practicing
pathologists, while introducing important new concepts useful in day-to-day practice. Courses will provide opportunities
to receive continuing medical education credits and some will provide Self Assessment Module credit
(SAMS). The Special Lecture will provide a current perspective on formatting reports by Dr. Paul Valenstein, and
the clinical pathology lecture will feature a discussion of proteomics in pathology by Dr. Ahmet Dogan. Register
early to reserve your seat at the highly sought-after video tutorials where space is limited.
Don’t miss what promises to be another interesting, informative and meaningful meeting—designed to
enhance your practice by providing seminars in liver, head and neck, pulmonary, endocrine, and GI pathology.
Join your pathology colleagues from California and all over the country for what promises to be an exceptional
program to be held at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero from November 27–December 1, 2012.
Additionally, CSP is organized with member support as its primary goal. Pathologists need to proactively
organize to assure the viability of continuing medical education; advocacy related to governmental regulations;
evolve practice management perspectives; and communicate challenging ideas that protect and reinforce our
specialty. The mechanism exists to accomplish these objectives through membership in the California Society of
Pathologists. With your participation and support, pathology will survive at the heart of medicine.
Look for more information regarding the 2012 Annual Meeting and CSP membership on our website:
www.calpath.org. Hope to see you in San Francisco!
Respectfully,
Peter C. Kolbeck, MD
President

It is indeed a pleasure for me to invite you to the 24th Regional Congress of the ISBT to be held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia on 1-4 December 2013. It is held in conjunction with the 6thNational Transfusion Medicine Conference.
This is the first time that the ISBT Congress has come to Malaysia and the Malaysian Blood Transfusion Society as the host welcomes you to Kuala Lumpur. The organising committee is in the process of preparing a programme that would be of interest to everyone working in this area of medicine, be it in blood establishment, hospital, laboratory or at the patient’s bedside. It will focus on practical, technical, scientific, research and clinical aspect of Transfusion Medicine. Internationally renowned speakers will be invited to participate and speak on their areas of expertise.
Transfusion Medicine has grown by leaps and bounds in the last decade. Asia has seen tremendous development in the provision of blood services. With it come improvements in organisation, service delivery, resources as well as technology, science and research. This congress would provide the opportunity to share and learn.
It will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, a state of the art venue, in the heart of the city within walking distance to numerous hotels.
