Description: This symposium is specifically designed to update the practicing dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons and other health professionals on the timeliest advances in Medical and Surgical Dermatology. New information about psoriasis, rosacea, skin cancer, dermatopathology, eczema, infectious diseases, contact dermatitis; HIV Dermatology; and numerous cosmetic procedures will be presented. Clinical pearls about topical therapy, simple explanations of complicated dermatopathologic diagnoses, and discussion pertaining to educationally valuable cases are among the many subjects which will be covered in this year’s program. Live Patient Demonstrations and Workshops with newly-approved cosmetic devices will also be featured. We will have an equal emphasis on the medical as well as the surgical dermatology. Participants will benefit from the close-circuit televising system which will enable them to observe cosmetic techniques while are being administrated by the world-renowned experts. The education which will be disseminated during the course of the program will enable participants to bridge their professional gaps so they could meet the educational needs which exist in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, and dermatopathology. Participants will be able to earn CME/AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s).

The first day will focus on epidemiology, prevention, pathology, genetic syndromes, advances in genomics, imaging and medical and surgical treatment in association with melanoma. The last two days are an in-depth immersion into Dermoscopy for imaging of melanocytic and non-melanocytic skin lesions, including three breakout sessions. Participants will develop practical skills that will enable them to be more comfortable approaching patients with atypical skin lesions. This dermoscopy section is primarily targeted to clinicians, but educators and residents will find it valuable as a springboard to develop Dermoscopy training programs. Course summary

A joint initiative of the Wellcome Trust and the Royal College of Pathologists and aimed primarily at trainee pathologists or haematologists, this inaugural residential course aims to introduce participants to the rapidly evolving field of the molecular diagnosis of cancer.
Molecular techniques in current use, as well as the hurdles to the introduction of these new approaches into routine clinical practice, will be covered. In addition, the ethical, societal and practical implications of introducing genome-wide genetic analyses to the clinic will be considered.
The course will host a number of leading national and international speakers who will give lectures on the molecular pathology of a number of cancers, including lung, colorectal, leukaemia, myeloma and others.
PLEASE NOTE: bursaries are available for clinical and academic applicants from anywhere in the world to attend this course, see below for details. In addition, CPD accreditation will be sought from the Royal College of Pathologists and the Royal College of Physicians.
