    20 September 2012

Neuropathology is in the process of being granted Specialty status, and applications are almost complete with the GMC
for Diagnostic Neuropathology curriculum. We are anticipating that training programmes will be approved over the
summer, for nationwide recruitment to the specialty to be advertised in late Autumn. Unlike previously, we will now
be appointing at ST3 level. ST2 post-part I Histopathology trainees and ST3-level Neurosurgery or Neurology trainees
will be eligible to apply. Trainees will need part I in Histopathology and clinical Neurosciences experience, so training
programmes will be aligned to sit very much at the bridge of clinical and pathological, and will be tailored to the
individual trainee. This conference is aimed at informing those who may be interested in applying to the new Diagnostic
Neuropathology training programme – whether they currently be Histopathology, Neurology or Neurosurgery trainees.
