[background=transparent]MOLECULAR GENETICS SOCIETY OF AUSTRALASIA & MUTATION DETECTION COMBINED MEETING
17th – 21st September, 2012
Sabaya Resort
Port Douglas[/background]
This year’s meeting combines the Molecular Genetics Society of Australasia’s annual meeting with the biennial Mutation Detection meeting. The meeting will provide a good opportunity for you to share your experiences and ideas with your colleagues as it is a forum where developers of methodology can exchange ideas, and those responsible for diagnostics can compare results with specific methods. In order to achieve maximum interaction and discussion, as well as space constraints, the number of registrants is limited. Registations will be accepted on a 1st in 1st served basis. We will have distinguished invited speakers attending.
We encourage all those interested in Diagnostic Methodology including Mutation Detection, Molecular Genetics and Cytogentics to attend.

21 September 2012
We have extended the Early Bird discount to 21 September 2012. Register now to receive the discounted fees. Don't forget to also register for the Method Harmonisation Satellite Meeting to confirm your seat.
Join us in Melbourne
We have heard much about standardisation of assays over recent years. Great strides have been made. What assays can be harmonised and/or standardised to produce comparable reference intervals and critical limits, standardised terminology, units and best practice methodology to improve clinical outcomes?
This is the underlying thrust of the AACB’s meeting in Melbourne which will run from THURSDAY 15 November to SUNDAY 18 November. “Harmonisation, a strategic priority for everyoneâ€, is also an ongoing project of the AACB and the RCPA in a Quality Pathology initiative called “Harmonisation of Laboratory Testingâ€.
The Melbourne meeting has been split into four themed days including; Harmonisation Day, Harm Minimisation Day, Hormonal Day and Disharmony Day and features both international and local speakers. I refer you to the line-up of speakers for a truly Global perspective. I thank all our speakers for participating and I invite YOU to join us on our journey towards Quality Pathology.
A satellite meeting, “Method Harmonisationâ€, will be held on Monday 19 November and will include the theory and practice of method harmonisation, standardisation and traceability.
The Conference will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in the heart of Melbourne next to the Yarra River. The Conference Dinner will be held at the National Gallery of Victoria on the Saturday evening of the meeting.
As part of the exhibition we have included an Industry Exhibition Passport. Registrants will receive a business card holder, provided by IVD Australia, to collect (& retain for later use!) business cards from all exhibitors. We hope this will act as a PASSPORT to your future interactions and requirements. Our Sponsors make meetings like this possible and we are thankful for their ongoing support.
On behalf of the President and Council of the AACB I cordially invite YOU to register for our 50[sup]th[/sup] Annual Conference. I thank the Scientific and Organising Committees for composing such an attractive program and I hope that you will engage with us as we strive for continued excellence.
Marcus Hall
Chair Central Conference Organising Committee.
