17th International Congress on Oral Pathology and Medicine

On behalf of the Turkish Society of Pathology, we are delighted to invite you to the 17th
International Congress on Oral Pathology and Medicine to be held in Istanbul, Turkey.
Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey, and though it is not the capital, it is the leading industrial,
commercial and cultural center of the country. Istanbul has been home to many civilizations since
3rd millennium BC. With its cultural heritage and as the European capital of culture in 2010,
Istanbul is a living example of an ancient city embracing the future in beautiful harmony. Istanbul
with its history, culture, civilization and people is a city that has its face turned toward Europe. As
much as this city has internalized European culture, European culture has been shaped by Istanbul.
Istanbul will be holding the title ‘European Capital of Culture’ in 2010 and this will lead to many
improvements in facilities and heritage sites.
