Striking, confluent dense parakeratosis. Dilated capillaries but no inflammation. Epidermis often shows pallor (not seen here)
DD: Necrolytic acral erythema – rare association of hepatitis C infection. Psoriasiform lesions, both clinically and histologically; more acanthosis and inflammation than with acrodermatitis enteropathica.
