Banal capillaries. Smooth muscle infiltration was present but not illustrated.
Case 396 Dec 2011 (P. Mckee) F 30 haemangioma
Florid example with most vessels cut at right angles. Vessels infiltrating between hyalinised collagen (and also arrector pili mm. – not shown).
DD: epithelioid haemangioendothelioma – this doesn’t show so much vascular differentiation. Shows clusters of cells with intracytoplasmic vacuoles, and occ. RBC’s. Has myxoid and hyalinised stroma.
Case 1133 27.10.14 (M. Hurt) F 62 (black) red mark arm
Non-inflammatory proliferation of small bvs. Hobnail endothelium. No haemosiderin.
CD31 (endothelium) and SMA (pericytes) +ve; D2-40 –ve (not lymphatic).
Rare, solitary acquired vascular malformation of young/middle aged adults, usually extremities.
Case 2096 19.6.18 (U. Sundram0 M 50 chest
Rather intertitial pattern of small vessel proliferation with ? mucin. Final diagnosis not declared. Could also have been Kaposi.
