Good morning all. Another of those nice examples of a not uncommon entitity for your pleasure. Obviously the correct diagnosis is either HSV or VZV infection. Clinical information and immunohistochemistry will resolve the problem. Have a wonderful weekend and see you all on Monday.

Ballooning degeneration of keratinocytes, steel gray nuclei, multinucleate keratinocytes and extensive reticular degeneration. Herpes simplex or Varicella zoster.
