Merkel cell carcinoma vs. B-cell lymphoproliferative disoerder (i.e. follicle center cell lymphoma). Immunos are required.

Favor follicle centre cell lymphoma (diffuse type) but definitely Immunos r needed to exclude MCC.

I don´t think this to be a MCC, more consistent with follicle centre lymphoma.

This is one of those difficult cases where today immunohistochemistry is essential. It was a gift and I have to assume that the profile matched the diagnosis which is primary cutaneous marginal zone lymphoma. The tumor population consists of centrocyte-like cells and I think that the bottom right image shows very marked follicle colonization.
