It´s a dense and diffuse infiltrate of immunoblasts-like neoplastic cells. That means diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, leg-type. This lymphoma is more expected in older women (>70 years of age).

I don't quite like the herring bone like pattern in figure 1 and would like to add poorly differentiated sarcoma to the differential of this small blue round cell tumour.

Me too, am not comfortable with the pattern in Fig 1, and also with the clinical presentation as a thigh mass. Would like to suggest peripheral PNET. It usually affect children and young adults but cases in older patients have been reported.

This is a difficult case, but the low-power figure shows a heringbone growth pattern. The final diagnosis is monofazic synovial sarcoma.
