The patient is a 54 year old woman with punch biopsies of scattered pink papules, coalescing to plaques with scattered petechiae, taken from the feet.

My first thought is also perniosis, with LE in the differential dx.

My first impression was also perniosis. Have just suggested this diagnosis today in an SLE patient presented with lesions on the palms.
