The patient is a 34 year old black woman with punch biopsies for H&E microscopy and direct immunofluorescence of well-demarcated, atrophic plaques with scale and scarring taken from A and B- the left superior parietal scalp.

DLE. I can also see thick colagen fibers extending and replacing the subcutaneous fat tissue, then the DLE may be associated with Scleroderma. The straight edges of the punch biopsy are also a tip to Scleroderma.

Basment membrane so thick clear with no need for PAS.Immunoglobuins must be very strong there.Agree DLE.
