Strands of basaloid cells with few horn cysts and fibrotic stroma- desmoplastic trichoepithelioma.

Anastomosing marrow strands parallel to the epidermis and with outer sheath differentiation make me think of Follicular Infundibulum Tumor.

Thanks Vincenzo. Now I see the plate- like growth and slightly pale staining cells. I was wrong. It is a tumour of the follicular infundibulum. As they say....the eyes don't see what the mind doesn't know!

Akerman pointed out the tumours cells in this lesion are isthmic (plump & pink)!

I'm fortunate to be bi-millennium Spot Diagnosis!  Hats off to all contributors and participants. Together we make this forum better. 

 

This case is a Tumor of the Follicular Infundibulum. The plate-like growth is characteristic.
