45 year old man with double below the knee amputations from a motor vehicle accident 10 years ago, now with recurrent verrucous papules on the left knee.

Pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia and dilated lymphatics in the dermis- this is verrucous hyperplasia of the amputation stump.

Need clinical information and pictures. It' s a recurrent lesion so need to consider verrucous carcinoma in the differential diagnosis.

You all got to the difficult aspect of this case. We were considering both verrucous carcinoma (rare in this setting) and verrucous hyperplasia of amputation site. We asked the clinicians to treat this as if it were a verrucous carcinoma, as it had recurred and the level of pushing borders was unusual for verrucous hyperplasia of amputation site. Difficult case.
