Verruciform Xanthoma, with some koilocytic features. Interestingly HPV infection has been reported in several cases of VX as causative agent.

Verruciform Xanthoma.

There is necrosis of the keratinocytes with neutrophils and foam cells  in the dermal papillae! I didn’t appreciate koilocytic changes !

Case c/o Dr Benedicte Cavelier-Balloy.

Diagnosis: Verruciform xanthoma (VX) associated with systematised epidermal naevus.

On my last reading there was not a specific association between VX and HPV as far as I am aware.

Other cases of VX on Spot diagnosis: 1028 (MH), 1435 (HD), 1771 (RC), 1781 (LY), 1879 (RC).
