Encapsulated benign nerve sheath tumor. My differential diagnosis includes intraneural neurofibroma, or schwannoma. I kind of favor neurofibroma because I see a hint of axons and mast cells. Clinical correlation, S100 and neurofilament may further differentiate the former (fusiform enlargement of the nerve; S100+ in a fraction of the cells; neurofilament highlights axons) from the later (nodular; S100+ in every cell; neurofilament-).

Neurofibromas are usually itchy but they can hurt also. This is a neurofibroma for me.

Many axons entrapped in the center of the lesion make me think of intraneural neurofibroma
