If you look carefully in the provided images, you will find endothrix and ectothrix pattern of hair shaft invasion with fungal spores and septate hyphae characteristic of dermatophytic folliculitis. The patient reported close prolonged contact with cats infected with ringworm. In Malassezia folliculitis, only yeasts (including budding yeasts) are seen within keratin filled dilated infundibula. Clinically, some papules showed annular configurations.
