Upper derma edema and mixed perivascular and interstitial infiltrate with prominence of eosinophils are the salient features. Infiltrate also extends into the panniculus. Spider bite reaction (loxoscelism) comes to my mind considering that the lesion is purpuric. Other possibilities are Wells syndrome, insect bite reaction and drug hypersensitivity. Hematological investigations to rule out hypereosinophilic syndrome are desirable along with clinical history and correlation.
