25 year old female with pigmented lesion on right third toe for about 3 years.

I think immunostais would be of great value to differentiate beteewn histiocytes and melanocytes. My opinion is that these cells are exogenous-pigmented laden macrophages probably filled with carbon-derived pigment (maybe asphalt or other trauma related pigment).

Tattoo like pigment. The case is curious, as the patient has no history of tattoo here or nearby, and no known history of trauma. However, the findings are fairly diagnostic.
