This is a spindle-cell neoplasm situated in the reticular dermis in juxtaposition to a hair follicle. The spindle cells have elongated blunt-ended nuclei. Piloleiomyoma is the first thing that comes to mind. Myopericytoma and myofibroma are some differentials but there are no vessels in the tumour to support these diagnoses

Unusual cellular dermatofibroma. Desmin and CD 34 negative. Factor13a is positive.

I'm late, sorry. A difficult case for me. Thought of a weird nodular fascitis ( cellular ). Was so out of the way?  Thanks for this interesting case, Uma.
