Moreover, we want this Congress is also a space and time to discuss, develop and share ideas about ourselves and in relation to our profession and the challenges we face in the present and the future.
Paraphrasing the newspaper headline "are not good times for poetry," we must be aware that it is in times of crisis when generating opportunities, so it is necessary to improve all skills that can help us out of the current situation.
In that sense, we convey our confidence in the success of the Congress of Barcelona and not only by the enthusiasm, desire and illusion that we are working with the various committees, but by the community spirit of Clinical Laboratory and its proven ability response. You are our strength and sure that together we will succeed.
And with all this, a key factor: the City. There's no excuse for not coming to Barcelona. Like many other places in the world, Barcelona has many faces. City and multifaceted metropolis of ancient history and character young exponent of avant-garde culture and keeping old traditions corners. City living, constantly changing mix of characters, colors, accents and very different ways of seeing and living life. Bearer of international cuisine where a good "pa amb tomaquet", with all its oil, it becomes one of the greatest exponents of the Mediterranean diet.
Do not miss this opportunity to get lost in the Born district, stroll down the Ramblas, visit the Boqueria market or feel the silence of centuries in the Gothic Quarter.
Do not miss this opportunity to fall in love with Barcelona.

It is our pleasure to invite you to the 58th annual meeting of the Paediatric Pathology Society, which will be held on October 25-27th, 2012 in Madrid.
This is the largest paediatric pathology meeting in Europe and we have endeavoured to make it attractive for your attendance. This year we are organising a Symposium on “Paediatric Dermatopathologyâ€, with the participation of the most renowned paediatric dermatologists and dermatopathologists from Spain and Europe. The Slide Seminar on “Unexpected Causes of Perinatal Death†promises to be a success. At the traditional poster sessions and oral presentations, we will be able to share our latest research topics and clinical practice with the leading paediatric pathologists. Finally, we will count on the presence of Professor Roger Byard, who will honour us with the John Emery Memorial Lecture.
This exciting event will take place at the Hotel ME Madrid Reina Victoria, a recently refurbished old and famous hotel located downtown, which used to host the world’s famous bullfighters. We have chosen this venue because of the beautiful architecture, the amazing views of the city and the modern meeting rooms and facilities. It has all the amenities that make it a perfect meeting place. For those interested in art and culture, there are plenty of museums, opera and theatres within walking distance. Here is where the PPS´s excellent scientific sessions will be held, ensuring the most enjoyable visit for you.
