Mass spec is quickly becoming the analytical method of choice for many routine clinical assays. Program organizers Lorin Bachmann, PhD (VCU Health System), and Ross Molinaro, PhD (Emory University Hospital), invite interested lab professionals to hear leading experts discuss the advantages and challenges of mass spec vs. immunoassay, issues in setting up a mass spec lab, the basics of mass spec method validation, the critical importance of sample prep, and best practices in maintaining continuous QA/QC of your mass spec methods. In addition, conference faculty will examine some of the applications already in use in the clinical lab, including TDM (immunosuppressants and pain management), vitamin D, toxicology/DAU, and steroid hormone testing.
