Case 890 15.11.13 (R. Carr) F 75 lip ? BCC

Lot of debate between this diagnosis and DTE. In favour of BCC: large epithelial islands, nuclear atypia, cords > 2-3 cells wide; retraction artefact; lack of concentric bands of collagen; some mucinous stroma; Ki67 nearly 50% (should be ≤5% if DTE); BerEP4 highlighted larger foci.
