Case 1007 2.5.14 (R. Carr) M 75 ?BCC scalp
Difficult case. At first glance looked like sebaceous or liposarcoma with malignant-looking clear cells. These were actually CD68+ve AFX variant. 30% of the specimen composed of epithelial component squamoid BCC (Ber-EP4+ve).
Message: sebocyte-like differentiation isn’t always true sebaceous differentiation.
DD: clear-cell melanoma – no answer re melanocyte markers
