Dr Richard A. Logan

Retired Consultant Dermatologist

Dr Richard A. Logan is a retired Consultant Dermatologist who practised in South Wales, UK. He qualified in Medicine from Bristol University in 1977. His interest in Histopathology was initially stimulated during a Pathology job as a junior doctor. Having toyed with the idea of specialising in Pathology he eventually opted for Dermatology, training at St. John’s Hospital and the Institute of Dermatology in London in the 1980’s. There his interest in Dermatopathology was greatly stimulated by contact with world leaders in the subject. The departure from Cardiff of several pathology teachers in the early “noughties” left a void which Richard has attempted to fill by teaching Dermatopathology to generations of Dermatology trainees over the last 15 years or so. Retirement, and the restrictions imposed by the 2020 pandemic has given Richard time to study intensively the wonderful collection of material on DermpathPRO.
