Late stage lymphocytic (CD4+ve predominantly, cf CD8 dominant in LPP and FFA)  

scarring alopecia.  Perifollicular concentric lamellar fibrosis; squamatisation of basal layer; loss of elastic fibres in scar; fused follicles. 

CCCA incorporates three previous “entities”: follicular degeneration syndrome; pseudopelade of African Americans; Central elliptical pseudopelade of Caucasians
