End-stage, burned out lupus ± panniculitis 

Case 1296 (R. Carr)  F 45 patch scarring hair loss 

Lymphocytic scarring alopecia. Follicular drop out at the isthmus with perifollicular fibrosis and lichenoid infiltrate with a few necrotic keratinocytes. Around the infundibulum there is a thick basement membrane. Interface dermatitis.
