Case 434 (P. McKee)  M 31 nodule thigh 

        DD: myopericytoma – look for onion-ring layers of tumour cells ar. vessels. 

 

Case 563 (R. Carr)  F 47 painful nodule trunk 

Unanimous agreement but I also wondered about spindle cell haemangioma because of vacuolated endothelium and large blood vessel size.  Final D not given 

 

Case 718 (P. McKee)  M 30 DF-like lesion leg 

Only 2 HP views available.  Smooth muscle markers +ve. 

 

Case 1302 (R. Carr)  F 68 lump finger web space 

Myoid tumour with plump spindle cells, in places showing an onion-ring arrangement.  Surrounding numerous rather angulated capillary spaces.  SMA++; desmin+; CD34+ (endothelium).  Overlap with myopericytoma, which are usually desmin-ve. 

 

Case 1473 (U. Sundram)  M 77 neck 

SMA+ve; H-caldesmon+ve; desmin +ve 

DD: Myopericytoma SMA +ve; H-caldesmon +ve; desmin-ve 

        Perineurioma – onion-bulb sclerosis.  EMA +ve; CD34+ve 

 

Case 1567 (U. Sundram)  M 30 leg 

 

Case 2348 (L. Yu) ? (no desmin stain) 

 

Case 4183 (H. Diwan) F 72 lesion plantar surface of heel 

Calcifying plantar angioleiomyoma
