Bowen’s disease, pigmented

Operations Pathhub

Case 887  12.11.13  (M. Hurt)  M 67 lesion chest (history of melanoma)

Subtle cellular abnormality shrouded by pigment and heavy haematoxylin.  Some thought large cell acanthoma.  High Ki-67 index confirmed diagnosis.  Philosophical discussion about usefulness of IH markers to strengthen H+E diagnosis in this context.  Ki-67 apparently not the best. CK10 and Bcl-2 better.

Case 2613 13.7.20 (M. Abdel-Halim) M 67 plaque on back

Also had lichenoid reaction.

Case 2721  10.12.20 (S. Taibjee)  F 78 pink/brown scaly lesion lower leg

Pagetoid spread of atypical cells, sparing basal layer.  Rather bubbly cytoplasm suggesting possible sebaceous carcinoma, but wrong site, and nuclei not indented as might be expected.

Case 2956  4.11.21 (S. Taibjee)  M 75 punch biopsy frontal scalp

Too much dysplasia and dyskeratosis for AK.  Basal hyperpigmentation and pigmentary incontinence. P53 strong +ve throughout epidermis; Melan-A -ve; p16 -ve.
