Desmoplastic malignant melanoma (easily missed)

All dermalLots of plasma cells and an interstitial GA-like pattern. 

Desmoplastic melanoma may be S100+ve, SOX +ve, but Melan A and HMB45 –ve. 

 

Case 2552 17.4.20  (R. Carr)  F 70 plaque forehead 

Low power view dominated by Jessneroid or lupus-like nodular lymphocytic infiltrate, but dermis too cellular with spindle cells and mitotic activity. 

 

Case 2557  24.4.20   F  75  forehead  (R. Carr)  dual pathology with CLL

“Scar” appearance in dermis composed almost entirely of melanoma cells.
