Erythema elevatum diutinum (EED)

LCV with overlying epidermal reactive hyperplasia

Relatively early stage before significant fibrosis.  Hint of vasculitis with extravasated RBC’s; PMN predominant infiltrate with PMN debris but no eos. 

Case 1152  21.11.14 (R. Carr)  M 50 “cystic” lesion corner of mouth (*teaching)  

Typical fibrotic histology.  Unusual location.  Some thought granuloma faciale but seems too fibrotic and storiform and lacks some of the cellular variety seen in GF. 

Case 1352   28.8.15  (A. Bakshi/R. Carr)  F 52 vasculitis rash with nodules over joints 

Foci of necrobiosis associated with interstitial histiocytes, mucin deposition in addition to the neutrophilic infiltrate, with few eosinophils.  Resembles pallisaded neutrophilic dermatosis.

LCV with nodular onion-skin fibrosis. 

Case 2416 3.10.19  (IH Chaudhry)  M 59 

Mixed inflammatory cell population.  Vasculitis not obvious.  ? vessels occluded. 

Case 2799 30.3.21 (IH Chaudhry)  M 75  hand lesion (*teaching) 

Later stage lesion with LCV and fibrosis beginning.
