Case 46  Aug 2010 (P. McKee) – lovely example showing large polyhedral cells (*teaching) 

DD: congenital epulis; congenital granular cell tumour (S100-ve) 

 

Case 686  31.1.13 (H. Diwan)  F 29 black lesion arm.  (Malignant version) 

S100-ve; CD163 +ve.  Granular cells, rather pleomorphic with one abnormal mitosis.  Diagnosis debated with DD below. 

DD: histiocytic sarcoma (CD163 +ve – not pleomorphic enough. 

        Granular cell variant of epithelioid DF. 

 

Case 1209  10.2.15 (U. Sundram)  M 88 firm nodule abdo. (*teaching) 

v. nice example. Strongly S100+ve. 

 

Case 1363  14.9.15   (IH Chaudhry)  F 49 “cyst” shoulder 

The granular cells here are distributed singly and in columns between the collagen bundles and adjacent to nerves. 

 

Case 1731 16.1.17  (L. Yu)  M 56 chest mass 

Good example.  Rather more spindled than other examples.  S100 +ve 

 

Case 2168  1.10.18  M  50  anus (L. Yu) 

Pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia overlying granular cell tumour.  Pustulo-ovoid body of Milian seen in Fig. 4 – large eosinophilic granule surrounded by halo. 

 

Case 2748 18.1.21 (R. Logan) F 41 nodule arm. ()*teaching) 

Nice example showing reactive pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia.
