Deeply situated palisaded granuloma, only modest necrobiosis. Giant cells.
Case 1289 2.6.15 (U. Sundram) F 40 wrist papules
Case 1427 11.12.15 (R. Carr) F 45 elbow nodule (“pseudo-rheumatoid nodule”)
Deep palisading necrotic granuloma with giant cells. RC: you can have both strikingly red palisaded GA (+/- pseudorheumatoid nodules) and Rheumatoid nodules with and without mucin. CPC needed.
Case 2566 7.5.20 (S. Taibjee) M 51 nodule forearm: deep GA
Deeply situated palisading granulomata with necrobiosis, but not massive. Heavy mucin staining in favour of deep GA rather than Rheumatoid nodule. Also no fibrin (would have been +ve if Rh. Nodule)
