Case 52   Aug 10 (P. McKee)  - good demo giant cells in vesicle base (*teaching) 

 

Case 1144   11.11.14 (U. Sundram)  F 70 plaque thigh 

Glassy change and viral inclusions 

 

Case 1469  10.2.16 (H. Diwan)  M 62 cheek 

Overexposed.  Multinucleated cells in wall of hair follicle.  Some mistook them for fungal hyphae.  Herpes simplex folliculitis. 

 

Case 1693  23.11.16 (H. Diwan)  F 47 nose ? SCC in-situ 

Epidermal necrosis with ulceration, keratinocyte nuclei with ground-glass appearance, binucleation, cytoplasmic vacuolization, and acantholysis. 

 

Case 1882 15.8.17 (U. Sundram)  F 63 vulva 

Malorientated specimen giving the appearance of invasive SCC.  Some areas of ground glass appearance and giant cells.  Tricky. 

 

Case 2984  14.12.21 (U. Sundram) M 25 with sarcoma.  New crusted papules 

Herpes folliculitis. Intraepidermal vesiculation and sebaceous gland inflammation and necrosis – single cell necrosis.  Some ground glass changes in nuclei. 

 

Case 4053  3.8.22 (H. Diwan) F 45 lesion, index finger (*teaching) 

Herpetic whitlow.  Nice demonstration of intra-nuclear inclusions and giant cells.
