Superficial epidermal necrosis. Vertical elongations of keratinocytes suggests thermal or cryo injury. Sub-epidermal blister.

“Top heavy”; very peculiar appearance in ulcerated slough.
Case 2896 12.8.21 (S. Taibjee) F 12 persistent pink erythema of cheeks (*teaching)
“Outside in” changes. Alteration of upper levels of epidermis, relative sparing of lower epidermis. Mummified appearance to epidermis, a useful clue to DA. Upper epidermal vacuolisation and BC extravasation.
